Claire Hughes Dental & Facial Aesthetics is delighted to provide visually pleasing veneers for assured cosmetic coverage

Many of our patients detect slight overcrowding and damage to their front teeth over time. As part of your smile makeover, our courteous dental team are experienced at restoring your smiling confidence with custom veneers.

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, tooth-coloured shells or coverings that are carefully bonded to the front surface of your natural teeth. They are commonly made from porcelain or a composite material, each offering its own benefits.

During your consultation, your dentist will discuss the most suitable veneer option for you based on your oral health and budget.

What are veneers used for?

Dental veneers might be an excellent aesthetic treatment choice for you for a variety of reasons.

Among them are the following:

  • To correct crowded teeth – Over time, teeth can shift and become slightly crowded. Veneers can be used to disguise minor crowding and create a more even appearance. Where appropriate, we will also discuss Invisalign clear aligners as a less invasive option.
  • To close gaps between teeth – Some people are concerned with closing spaces between teeth, which is the reverse of crowding. Veneers can be tailored to give more significant covering than natural teeth, allowing gaps to be minimised.
  • To mask dental discolouration – Whitening alone cannot address many forms of discolouration just via whitening – this might be due to fluorosis, medication side effects, or congenital abnormalities. Whatever the source of discoloured teeth, veneers are an excellent way to conceal unsightly stains.

What types of veneers are there?

There are several types of dental veneers. Nonetheless, the primary two varieties are distinguished by the material from which they are manufactured.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are highly durable and stain-resistant. Porcelain is chosen in the majority of situations owing to its durability. Porcelain is non-porous, which means it does not absorb stains from meals such as tea, coffee, or red wine.

Composite Veneers

Composite offers its own set of benefits, including repairability and a more natural opacity. Although composite choices are less robust and slightly more porous than porcelain alternatives, they are less expensive and may be fixed if damage happens.
